Evidence-driven learning design to support computational thinking education
Enhancing learning in a meaningful, attractive and accessible manner is critical for the 21st century. Today, students need easy to follow but also powerful learning designs, offering fine-grained control of time and progress during their learning experience. Collecting student-generated data can provide valuable information in designing meaningful learning experiences. In this talk, I will talk about the evidence-driven design and implementation of Kodeløypa; Kodeløypa is a computational thinking outreach program available to all 10th grade students in the region of Trondheim, Norway.

Empowerment of children in and through design and making - experiences from Finland
Empowerment of children to design and make technology has been emphasized in the contemporary digitalized world. It has been recognized that children should adopt a critical, reflective stance towards technology as well as acquire agency to shape it as well as their futures with it. This talk introduces some ways by which empowerment of children in and through design and making have been accomplished in Finland as well as discusses a variety of forms such empowerment of children may take.

Computational Empowerment: At fremme åndsfrihed og medborgerskab i en algoritme-centreret verden
Hvordan vi anvender digitale teknologier i grundskolen til at forberede de kommende generationer til at færdes i en algoritme-centreret verden? Ole Sejer Iversen stiller skarpt på fem forskellige tematikker, som berammer digital teknologi i uddannelser. Han fortæller, hvordan skabelse af - og forståelse for digital teknologi hænger sammen og hvordan en udvidet FabLab designmodel kan knytte forståelse og skabelse tættere sammen i en teknologiforståelse. Oplægget knytter nyeste forskning og konkrete eksempler sammen i et forsøg på at afdække ”Computational Empowerment” begrebet som en vision for en kritisk og nysgerrig tilgang til digital teknologi.
